The Fiorano Health Data Exchange is a platform to facilitate the sharing of health care data between organizations and systems. It is built on the proven speed, scalability, and reliability of Fiorano's Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) and therefore supports many message and protocol standards out of the box, but can also access data that is not otherwise readily available. Within the UK the Fiorano Health Data Exchange was used to create the Fiorano Interoperability Tool Kit (ITK) Framework, which has been awarded the ITK v2 accreditation for integrating NHS systems.

By utilising the graphical tools it is quick and easy to describe routes and transformations for health data; perhaps to link a consumer's information to a suitable choice of insurers or eligibility for Medicaid as part of a Health Insurance Exchange (HIX), or maybe to provide a Health Information Exchange (HIE) between organizations, or even to facilitate communication between a patient and a health care provider as part of well-being program.
The Fiorano Health Data Exchange is an ideal platform to form the backbone of a HIX. Its stability and scalability make it suitable to handle large volumes of data at high throughput rates with piece of mind that the system will circumvent hardware failures and never lose a message. Its array of pre-built adaptors and the ability to create bespoke connections make it possible to check eligibility against Medicaid, the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP) and state health subsidy programs; it can also provide real-time verification checks against:

Solution Creation Environment
There is a graphical studio to help build solutions using a rich set of adapters plus support for native coding languages to create new adapters, if required. Visual tools are also included to describe transformations, mappings and content based routing. Solutions can even be extended at runtime without having to stop and start the entire system. -
Business Process Management
Existing or new business processes that require human interaction and complex rule processing for decisions can be mapped and then integrated into a solution. -
Powerful service deployment and runtime control
The solution processes can be deployed across multiple machines and integrated event-interception provides runtime debugging from within the graphical studio, regardless of how the processes are distributed. There is also a centralised web-based console to monitor, audit and manage solutions. -
Peer-to-peer architecture for performance, scalability and reliability
At the core lies Fiorano's high performance message queuing system. This enables a peer-to-peer architecture with linear scalability and parallel processing with no single point of failure or need for a centralised control/data server. The built-in reliability of the queuing system means that messages are never lost. -
Standards based Service Oriented Architecture (SOA)
The SOA can mediate between multiple standard protocols, e.g.: HTTP, SOAP, REST, LLP, FTP, SMTP, JMS, MSMQ...
